On Sunday 16th October 2016 the Melbourne Immigration Museum held a festival to celebrate all things Aotearoa New Zealand. The day began with a Welcome to Country and Pōwhiri from 10.30 am, with the event running from 11.00 am to 4:30 pm.

There was New Zealand kai/food, including Hangi Boys, plus cultural and music performances by Tama Tatau (Samoan), Nesian Pearl (Samoan), Nuholani (Tahitian-Hawaiian), and the Pasefika Vitoria choir (Māori-Tongan-Pacific).

Oz Kiwi held an Information stall to educate New Zealanders on pathways to Australian citizenship. It was wonerful to speak with so many Kiwis throughout the day. Some were aware of their residency status in Australia, but not all of them knew about their options for Australian citizenship.
