Listen – NZ workers in Australia relieved at financial help
New Zealanders living in Australia are over the moon they’ll be able to access emergency payments being provided amid job losses due to Covid-19.
It follows a plea last week from Jacinda Ardern for her Australian counterpart to help an estimated 300,000 New Zealanders who are not eligible for any sort of benefit.
The payment is more than the $585 wage subsidy available in New Zealand, but will not be available for people who had only recently started their jobs.
