Oz Kiwi was invited to present at a Melbourne public hearing into the review processes associated with visa cancellations yesterday. We made a submission to the Senate inquiry in April 2018.

An Australian parliamentary committee have been told New Zealanders are suffering disproportionately as immigration officials sweep the streets of Australian cities for minor offenders.

Earlier this year, Australian Minister for Home Affairs, Peter Dutton, asked the Joint Standing Committee on Migration to inquire and report into appeals by non-residents against deportation. In the final public hearing in Melbourne yesterday, the Committee heard from lawyers, victims of crime, and advocacy groups.
