Please note

200,000 New Zealanders live in Queensland, a large number are now dual citizens due to RRV or being a Protected Special Category Visa-holder.

If you’ve acquired Australian citizenship since the last Queensland State or Federal election ensure you’re enrolled, or update your details. If you are unsure whether you qualify to please contact the AEC for assistance.

State and Territory governments don’t make immigration law, but they do make laws and decisions that impact your whānau and friends who are non-protected SCV holders.

QLD State election – 25 November 2017

The QLD 2017 State General Election will be held on Saturday, 25 November 2017. The Writ was issued on 29 October 2017.

If you are eligible to vote ensure you are on the electoral roll.

Polling Day 8:00 am – 6:00 PM Saturday 25 November 2017

Return of Postal Ballot Papers 5:00 pm Tuesday 5 December 2017
