A big thank you to those who lodged a submission in relation to Australian Citizenship Legislation (Strengthening Requirements) and Other Measures Bill.

We’ll provide an update of the next step once we have that information to hand.

01 July 2017

The Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs is accepting submissions in relation to the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Strengthening the Requirements for Australian Citizenship and Other Measures) Bill 2017.

Oz Kiwi is currently preparing its submission, and we encourage you to do the same.

There’s no right or wrong way to write the content of a submission other than it must be about the issue at hand ie the Citizenship Bill, and you must follow the requirements for submitting. Also, it is helpful to be clear and succinct, as it assists the reviewers.

In your submission, we ask that you please be respectful, and simply speak to your personal situation, in other words, how and why this will impact you and/your family as Australian taxpayers. Also note the contributions you make to Australia and your local community. Otherwise, it may undermine the hard work we’ve done to date.

The due date for submissions is 21 July 2017. The Senate Committee report is due by 4 September 2017.
