Oz Kiwi knows only a small number of young Kiwis raised in Australia will be helped by the student loan amendment that came into effect on 1 January 2016. Many more New Zealanders who want to study have not been able to access the scheme.

If you are not eligible for the HELP scheme you should contact your Federal MP and tell them why you can’t and what it would mean to you do be able to get a student loan. This is the best way to bring about change.

Tell your Federal MP what the issue is – due to being a temporary resident you are not able to access the HELP scheme. Many are unaware of the 2001 changes and the negative impact they have had on Kiwis in Australia.
