Australian election

Thanks to all our supporters and the Oz Kiwi team of volunteers, we’ve come a long way.

Tomorrow, 2 July 2016, will be a poignant day for many first time Kiwi voters in Australia. For those who can vote, please don’t take it for granted, ie don’t cast a “donkey vote”. There are many non-protected SCVs who would love to be in your position.

Some may say what’s so important about the election? Well, through intense lobbying over the last three years, we now have political parties who support change. Refer to the Political Party Support table for more details.

It is your democratic right to vote for whomever you want, but if the issues faced by Kiwis in Australia are important to you, please carefully consider your vote, and keep in mind those who cannot vote. Be their voice at the ballot box.

We thank all our supporters for your likes, comments, shares, donations, words of encouragement, spreading our message, and contacting and meeting with MPs.

Whatever the outcome of the election, we will keep fighting for those non-protected SCVs shut out of a fair pathway to citizenship.

Please note: if you can vote, take a pen with you.
