Talk of the Federal election happening on 2nd July has strengthened – with Parliament likely to be dissolved after the Budget is released on 3rd May. This means that all Kiwis eligible to vote must check their enrolment details so they ready vote in the election.
Those Kiwis who can vote should – not only as it is mandatory to vote in Australia – but because it is a right that many New Zealanders are denied, given they have no pathway to citizenship and voting.
Oz Kiwi acknowledges that not all Kiwis can vote, or gain permanent residency, so we will continue to advocate to change to the special category visa (SCV) and for reforms to correct the issues created by the 2001 changes. Over the coming days and weeks we will let you know how you can help us educate politicians and the public.
Go to the Get Involved page to see what you can do to support change.
Oz Kiwi is a volunteer organisation and relies entirely on donations to fund its work. Have you considered making a regular weekly or monthly donation? Every donation, no matter how small, helps to support change.
Oz Kiwi understands that not everyone will be able to vote but those that can should check their enrolment details.
